SALT LAKE CITY -- RealGM is reporting that 76ers power forward Richaun Holmes will miss six to eight weeks with a fractured right elbow.
The 37th pick in the June 25 NBA draft landed hard on his elbow after trying to block Wesley Saunder's layup with 2 minutes, 40 seconds left in regulation of Thursday night's 84-78 loss to the Utah Jazz in the Utah Jazz Summer League. After immediately grabbiing the elbow, the former Bowling Green standout headed to the bench during the timeout. He didn't return and had an X-ray after the game.
"He banged his funny bone," said assistant coach Billy Lange, who coached the summer-league squad in Utah.
