There’s a lot to be said for the Philadelphia 76ers‘ 2017-18 season. The playoffs didn’t end in ideal fashion, but their regular season outburst set the stage for what could be years of success. Outside of the Boston Celtics, there isn’t a team in the East with as much long-term potential.
Several different factors are at play when analyzing the Sixers’ success. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are stars, but their role players — Robert Covington, J.J. Redick, Dario Saric, Marco Belinelli — were huge all season.
Brett Brown also deserves a ton of credit for building the Sixers’ culture and putting his unique stars in a position to succeed.
