Philadelphia 76ers: Top three moves by former general manager Sam Hinkie

It’s been a while since Sam Hinkie left the Philadelphia 76ers franchise. A lot has changed since his departure. His successor former president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo used the assets left by Hinkie to relatively good use and now the Sixers are, at the very least, Eastern Conference Title contenders. Hinkie did set up the franchise for future success, but it’s also important to note some of the best moves he made while he was in Philadelphia.

Before Robert Covington joined the Sixers and eventually became NBA All-Defense first team, he was an undrafted free agent that saw limited minutes with the Houston Rockets and played the majority of playing time in the then D-League.
