At its heart, this is about the greatness of Joel Embiid. I’m not here to make fun of the Minnesota Timberwolves or Andrew Wiggins. I’m not here to badmouth the Milwaukee Bucks or Jabari Parker. I’m here to say that Joel Embiid is the superstar that both franchises should have drafted when they had the chance in 2014.
Embiid came to the draft hurt, the kind of tantalizing big man who reeked of Greg Oden’s recent failure and who fit perfectly into Sam Hinkie’s Process. It makes sense why the Wolves and Bucks passed on him, especially when you consider that Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker were highly regarded prospects in their own rights.
