After having a stellar 2017-18 season, bringing back Amir Johnson made complete sense for the Philadelphia 76ers front office that was in the middle of transitioning from the Bryan Colangelo Twitter fiasco to the new era under general manger Elton Brand. Johnson was solid defensively for the club and was a great veteran presence for the young Sixers club in the previous season. Sadly, only one of those statements is true for this year regarding veteran big man.
Johnson’s 14 years of NBA service has taken it’s toll on his ability to defend.
