This isn’t the first time that Joel Embiid has earned the player of the week award this season merely on the merit of his rebounding skills. There’s no doubt that all of the Philadelphia 76ers core players have had a good week, but Embiid’s elite glass cleaning skills separated him from the rest of his teammates.
The blowout victory against the Los Angeles Lakers was easily Embiid’s best performance of the week. None of the Lakers big men had an answer for the Sixers All-Star center. He finished with 37 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal, three turnovers and two fouls, while making 12-16 shots from the field, 2-3 from behind the 3-point line and 11-12 from the foul line.
