Philadelphia 76ers Player of the Week: Corey Brewer key on defense

With Jimmy Butler missing this past week due to a wrist injury, the Philadelphia 76ers relied upon newly signed Corey Brewer to start as a hard nosed defensive wing. The journey man didn’t disappoint either and far exceeded expectation. For that reason, he’s earned the player of the week award.

In the blowout victory against the James Harden led Houston Rockets, Brewer spearheaded the stifling defense. On the game, Brewer had 11 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks, three turnovers and three fouls, while shooting 50 percent on ten shots from the floor, he failed to make his one 3-point attempt and shot 50 percent from the free throw line.
