The rumors surrounding Mike D’Antoni joining the Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff as an associate coach came true Thursday night according to Keith Pompey of The Inquirer and CBS.
D’Antoni will join the struggling 76ers a week after head coach Brett Brown agreed to a two-year extension along with the hiring of Jerry Colangelo as the chairman of basketball operations.
D’Antoni comes with a lot of experience as he has been a head coach for 12 years around the league with the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.
