Getting a positive update about Zhaire Smith can help lighten the mood surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers and the Markelle Fultz situation. The extent of the recovery process that Smith has been through wasn’t revealed until recently by John Gonzalez of The Ringer. However, Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice has reported the Sixers plan regarding the rookie’s road to recovery.
Brett Brown says once Zhaire Smith is back up and running — he’s currently doing light work with an assistant away from the team, per the coach — they’d like to use the team’s G League affiliate to maximize his developmental time (both practice and games)

The fact that Smith is already putting weight and the stress of light running is a real positive in regards to the health of the foot that got surgically repaired this offseason.
