This time last year, Elton Brand was the general manager (GM) for the Philadelphia 76ers G-League affiliate, the then Delaware 87ers. Since then a lot has changed. His former boss Bryan Colangelo is no longer with the franchise after his wife’s twitter fiasco. After a brief stint with head coach Brett Brown at the interim helm of the front office, Brand was hired as the new GM and the moves he’s made in his tenure should earn him the Executive of the Year award.
This isn’t to say there aren’t other executives leaders that shouldn’t be in in consideration for the award.
