The 2017 off-season is already significantly different for the Philadelphia 76ers than a year ago. A year ago, newly hired team president Bryan Colangelo ran a media blitz decrying the status of the Philadelphia 76ers. But he didn’t stop there, and laid out his plans to infuse veterans into the team roster as well as unjam the team’s perceived center logjam.
The free agency targeting veterans was a logical move for the young 76ers roster. But the wisdom of telling everyone in the NBA that the team was choking on too many starting caliber centers was unwise.
