After Jimmy Butler‘s trade request was announced, numerous teams were interested in the disgruntled superstar. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski listed seven teams, with others emerging shortly after. The Philadelphia 76ers were among the teams willing to pursue a deal.
That might be over now.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Sixers are “completely out” of the Butler situation. That comes in light of the Miami Heat emerging as Butler’s preferred option, with trade rumors heating up considerably over the past 24+ hours.
Being cautious in the Butler pursuit was always going to be the Sixers’ strategy.
