After letting the open roster spot marinate for a couple months, the Philadelphia 76ers have finally made a move. The team will sign Corey Brewer to a 10-day contract, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, welcoming the 11-year veteran into Brett Brown’s thin second unit.
At 6-foot-9, Brewer prides himself on defense and hustle, using his long arms to disrupt passing lanes and guard multiple positions. The Sixers currently rely on several negative perimeter defenders in T.J. McConnell, Landry Shamet and Furkan Korkmaz, so Brewer is a step in the right direction.
