After a disappointing loss Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers faced the most important game of the season Monday night. Despite the obvious talent advantage, the Sixers didn’t want to visit Brooklyn in an 0-2 hole. Now the series is tied.
The Sixers were quick out of the gates, using Ben Simmons‘ aggression and J.J. Redick‘s hot shooting to build a slight lead. The second quarter, however, saw the Nets stick around, as D’Angelo Russell and Caris LeVert hit several difficult shots.
At halftime, the Sixers led by just one — a concerning margin given the importance of the game and the Sixers’ aspirations beyond round one.
