Coming into the season, Cam Reddish was the No. 1 prospect on my draft board. I have a very real infatuation with his talent — a smooth 6-foot-8 wing who could shoot, handle and playmake in the mold of a jumbo-point guard. He fit the modern NBA to an absolute ‘T’.
His season as Duke was much grimmer than his initial outlook. He struggled to produce alongside Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, two ill-fitted, ball-dominant stars who often overshadowed Reddish’s inconsistent production.
Reddish ended the season as a historically poor shooter inside the arc, struggling to finish at the rim and generating massive concerns about his role in the NBA.
