While the Philadelphia 76ers certainly could have done better in a lot of areas in their first-round series loss to the New York Knicks, one of the running themes was Sixers fans’ frustration with the officiating. Big picture, there was the...ahem...interesting disparity in what qualified as a foul when Jalen Brunson went to the basket vs. when Tyrese Maxey did. As more of a snapshot, the end of Game 2 will haunt the franchise for quite some time, as the refs both didn’t grant a timeout to Nick Nurse and deemed the equivalent of Maxey being mauled by a pack of hyenas as marginal contact.
