The 76ers' second season of tanking will conclude late Wednesday.
An expected loss to the Miami Heat and some luck could tie the Sixers (18-63) with the New York Knicks for the second-worst record.
The Knicks (17-64), winners of two straight games, would have to defeat the Detroit Pistons in a regular-season finale on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.
Under that scenario, the Sixers and Knicks would split the combined combination awarded to the second- and third-lowest positions for draft lottery on May 19. Since the combined combination of the two is an unrounded number (355), a coin flip would determine who gets the extra combination.
