NBA Draft 2018: Sixers pick Wichita State's Landry Shamet at No. 26 | 5 things to know, scouting report

Shamet is a 6-foot-5 point guard from Kansas City who spent three seasons playing point guard for the Wichita State Shockers. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 assists per game as a redshirt sophomore before leaving for the NBA.

At times last season it became plainly obvious that the Sixers needed a secondary ball-handler to play alongside Ben Simmons. It's what helped the Sixers win a game against the Celtics in the playoffs when T.J. McConnell was inserted into the starting line-up.

Shamet brings his shooting skills and is ideally suited as a secondary ball-handler to play with Simmons and/or Markelle Fultz.
