A week after announcing an agreement with the 76ers, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker addressed the city with some of the specifics of that agreement. If you want to watch the full press conference, you can catch it on Fox29’s Youtube channel.
Most of what Parker said wasn’t exactly new information. She gave reasons for supporting the plan and a vision for how that plan can be successful. While most of the nitty gritty details were left to other organization and city leaders who spoke, Parker did drop some interesting tidbits.
The first being that the agreement keeps the team in the city all the way until 2061, and that the project would go forward with no public city funds.
