Just five months ago, Markelle Fultz was the consensus top prospect in what many considered the deepest draft of this generation. He emerged as an elite three-level scorer at Washington, while his polish led many to dub him the best guard prospect since Kyrie Irving.
Since then, things have been a bit bumpy.
The Philadelphia 76ers made the surprising move to grab Fultz at No. 1, trading away the third pick and a future selection in order to pair him with 2016’s top pick (Ben Simmons) and the returning Joel Embiid.
