Philly native Hakim Warrick will go down in history as the first-ever draft pick of the Delaware Blue Coats. However, mere hours after he was selected with the ninth overall pick in Saturday’s G-League Draft, the former Syracuse star was dealt to the Iowa Wolves (along with the returning player rights to James Webb III) for guard Michael Bryson.
Bryson, a 6-4 guard from UC Santa Barbara, averaged 8.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game for the Wolves last season, shooting an impressive 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. For what it’s worth, Bryson finished as the runner-up in the 2018 G-League Slam Dunk contest.
