Let’s get this out of the way up front: Adam Silver hates The Process. There’s quotes out there about it that I could find if I were inclined to and industrious enough to do so, but I’m truly not. I’m sure you’ve all heard the quotes in the past when they came out, essentially saying that blatant tanking was not the point of the league.
In a sense, Silver was somewhat right. Competitive sports are founded on the basic unstated principle that everyone will try to win, and the Philadelphia 76ers did not do that. The players did, sure, and Brett Brown did, granted, but they were in no position to win with the team they had.
