It feels like a million years ago that Joel Embiid was playing in a physical, nasty playoff series against the New York Knicks while nursing his surgically repaired left knee and dealing with Bell’s Palsy.

That seemed like the pinnacle of the constant shitstorm Embiid has endured as an NBA player. But after winning gold at the Paris Olympics a couple months later — again, it feels like it happened in another lifetime — Embiid was dealt another crummy hand.
