Joel Embiid is listed as doubtful on this afternoon’s injury report and will be a game-time decision for Game 4 versus the Brooklyn Nets, according to Derek Bodner of the Atheltic. Very shocking stuff. He has been dealing with tendinitis in his right knee.
If Embiid doesn’t go, it will be the second conservative game he’ll miss in this opening series. It wouldn’t be the worst decision to give the big man the game off, as it would provide Jo over a week’s worth of rest before Game 5. Furthermore, if the Sixers can leave Brooklyn with a victory today and take a 3-1 series lead, they may elect to rest Embiid for the remainder of the first round, giving him ample recovery time before the second round, should the Sixers advance.
