After a time frame that was less than 24 hours but felt like months, the sign-and-trade sending Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat has been completed.
As expected, the Sixers will acquire promising wing Josh Richardson from Miami. Richardson is expected to step into a sizable role as part of the Sixers’ revamped starting lineup.
It originally seemed as if Miami was going to send guard Goran Dragic to the Dallas Mavericks to make the deal work financially, but due to an apparent miscommunication, that portion of the deal died. Miami had been looking for a Dragic suitor, but instead will trade many-time Joel Embiid troll victim Hassan Whiteside to Portland.
