The Sixers have struggled at the shooting guard, and small forward positions so far this year, and bringing in Kilpatrick could help spark those positions much like the addition of Ish Smith did for the Sixers’ point guard situation.
Lack of production from current guys
The combination of Nik Stauskas, Jakarr Sampson, and Hollis Thompson as the wing positions has not garnished nearly enough production to support the big-men like Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel this season. None of the those three SG/SF’s have managed to average more than 9 points per game, and they’ve each had their own specific share of inefficiencies.
