Originally slated to be a main component of the Sixers starting five, Markelle Fultz will have a different role than anticipated. Head coach Brett Brown told the media on Sunday that Fultz will start his rookie season coming off the bench. He cited the lack of playing time Fultz was able to get in the preseason as part of the reason why.
Brown's plan is for Fultz to come off the bench to start the season. Pointed to the fact Fultz didn't played much in preseason.

Fultz played a total of 47 minutes in just two preseason games, missing the other three games due to a nagging injuries to his right shoulder and knee.
