While Ricky Council IV was (rightfully) winning over the hearts of Sixers fans whenever he was able to get NBA minutes, he was actually the second two-way player the team converted to a standard deal in the 2023-24 season.
Riddled with injuries, the Sixers signed Jeff Dowtin, Jr. to a two-way deal on March 3. After a month in which he appeared in seven games for the team and shot 55% from the field and 50% from three, he was converted to a standard NBA contract.
Dowtin was signed in an emergency catcher type of situation.
