Behind Jared McCain’s unexpected Rookie of the Year bid, the largest silver lining for the Philadelphia 76ers has been the play of veteran forward Guerschon Yabusele.
Signed late in the offseason following an excellent run with France in the Olympic Games, the 28-year-old was expected to compete for a spot towards the end of the rotation. Instead, he has now made seven starts for the Sixers this season, including during Philadelphia’s 106-102 loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. In that contest, he record 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-5 from downtown, seven rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes.
