Lincoln University's most famous alumni are Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall and poet Langston Hughes. Lincoln is about to get a pretty famous basketball coach. Big Five Hall of Famer Doug Overton will be introduced as the new coach of the Division II school Thursday at Lincoln's Center City campus on Market Street.
Overton, a 1991 La Salle grad, played 11 seasons in the NBA, has been a college and NBA assistant, and most recently was a postgame 76ers analyst on Comcast SportsNet.
"A friend of mine heard I wanted to get back into coaching, said Lincoln had an opening and would I be interested," said Overton, 46.
