The Phoenix Suns' Derrick Jones, who starred at Archbishop Carroll High School and went on to play a year of basketball at UNLV, will take part in the slam dunk contest during NBA All-Star weekend.
Known for his dunks throughout his high school career, Jones, a 6-foot-7, 190-pound forward, kept up the reputation with the Runnin' Rebels, with his dunks being a YouTube favorite.
Apparently those slams were good enough to vault him into the dunk contest. The undrafted rookie has appeared in just three games with the Suns, getting on the court for a total of 11 minutes.
