South Sudan gave Team USA quite the scare, but Joel Embiid had his best performance so far in a thrilling 101-100 win at O2 Arena in London Saturday.
Team USA’s starters actually got off to a strong start. Embiid had a nice give-and-go with LeBron James early. He also had a nice tap-out that led to a James and-1. He had another offensive rebound and put-back on a Devin Booker missed layup.
Embiid was noticeably more active in general. After former Laker Wenyen Gabriel sank a three, Embiid hustled down the other end of the floor to get a quick seal, getting an easy basket.
