CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Brett Brown learned during his time as the Australian National team coach that extended road trips provide opportunities for "calculated coaching."
So that's what the 76ers coach hopes to do with his youthful squad during a current six-game road trip.
"We have a chance to learn in a bunch of different ways - classroom, walk-through, video," said Brown, whose squad kicked off the trip Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets at Time Warner Cable Arena. "We have a chance to come together chemistry-wise in a bunch of different ways."
The Sixers are having candid small group discussions and team dinners throughout the 11-day trip.
