The Philadelphia 76ers will reportedly sit Joel Embiid for reasons related to load management in Tuesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz. Rudy Gobert, who rivals Embiid as one of the best defensive bigs in the league, doesn’t seem to like that decision.
That once again sparks a debate that has been going on since the preseason: How often, and for how long, should Embiid be playing?
He played just 31 minutes-restricted games with the team last season before succumbing to a season-ending knee injury. That came on the heels of back and foot issues that kept him out at the end of his Kansas career and for his first two seasons as a member of the Sixers.
