When citing the two very different approaches to rebuilding an NBA franchise, the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics have often been compared. That comparison is usually favorable to Danny Ainge and disparaging to Sam Hinkie and “the process”. A funny thing is happening, though, in the NBA world. The Celtics are reaching the limits of their potential with the current roster. While competitive, they stand little legitimate chance of dethroning King James anytime soon.
You have to give credit to Danny Ainge, he pulled off one of the best trades in NBA history in 2013 when he sent Kevin Garnett and Paul Peirce to Brooklyn for 3 first round picks and 2017 swap rights.
