Hal Greer, who spent his entire 15-year career with the Syracuse Nationals/76ers franchise during a Hall of Fame career, earned yet another accolade when the Sixers unveiled a statue in his honor on Saturday at their practice facility in Camden.
"I think it is great and I really appreciate it and it is wonderful," Greer said after a brief ceremony, where Sixers coach Brett Brown, general manager Bryan Colangelo and local basketball icon Sonny Hill spoke on his behalf. "You look at the face and it looks like me."
Greer, 80, was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history at the start of the 1996-97 season.
