The Eastern Conference received quite the shake-up last weekend, with the Philadelphia 76ers acquiring Justin Patton via trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Oh, and Jimmy Butler, a four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA player.
In Butler, the Sixers have someone who fixes several key issues on offense. He’s also an elite defender, helping to fill the void left by Robert Covington. Brett Brown, for the first time during his tenure as head coach, will have someone who can defend, shoot and dribble outside the center position.
In addition to the Sixers’ obvious boost, several teams continue to perform above expectations in the young season.
