The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to have a breakthrough season with the addition of No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz and a promising young core around him, including a now-healthy Ben Simmons. Even if the playoffs aren't on the horizon for this group (though they may very well be), they will be one of the most entertaining and intriguing teams to watch this season. With the league releasing the full schedule on Monday night, here are the top 10 games they will play this year:
10) Philadelphia 76ers at Dallas Mavericks - Oct. 28th, 8:30 pm ET
The major draw behind this matchup is Fultz going up against Dennis Smith Jr., another Rookie of the Year favorite. It's the first time they will play this season.
9) Philadelphia 76ers at Sacramento Kings - Nov. 9th, 10:00 pm ET
Another Markelle Fultz-centered rivalry, this is between him and De'Aaron Fox. Fox is on record saying he wants to prove he's the best point guard in the class, which Fultz took as a challenge. That could lead to some fireworks in this one.
8) Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons - Apr. 4th, 7:00 pm ET
Both Philly and Detroit are looking to make the playoffs after missing out last year, and both figure to be on the fringes this season. This is the fourth and final matchup between these two teams and could determine which one of them goes to the postseason.
7) Milwaukee Bucks at Philadelphia 76ers - Jan. 20th, 7:30 pm ET
Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are expected to challenge the teams at the top of the Eastern Conference this year. They will be a good measuring stick for the Sixers.
6) Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers - Oct. 20th, 7:00 pm ET
Boston is a legit championship contender after adding Gordon Hayward and are the biggest threat to unseat Cleveland at the top of the East. That adds to the importance of this game, but there's the added storyline of Boston trading the No. 1 pick to the Sixers, allowing them to draft Fultz.
