Philadelphia 76ers Select Michael Carter-Williams with 11th Pick in 2013 NBA Draft

The Philadelphia 76ers have selected Michael Carter-Williams with the 11th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Carter-Williams had a quite the breakout as a sophomore this past season for Syracuse after being the third-string point guard as a freshman. He might just be the quickest player in the class, and at 6' 6" and 185 pounds is well-sized for a point guard. He averaged 12 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game (there's the quickness) for the Orange last year, and despite being big for a point-guard he is as true as they come at that position. He has the ability to make any pass and is not afraid to do so, which makes him turnover prone by trying things he would be better off not to. But his height gives him a definite advantage is ability to see the floor. His shooting, however, needs to improve. He shot just 39 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 64 percent from the free throw line last year. If those were higher, we could be talking about him as the No. 1 overall pick.
