The Philadelphia 76ers have their eyes fixed on the 2015 NBA Draft when it comes to landing the next young piece of the puzzle, but there's also a very crucial dip into free agency coming for the team in July. With that being said, here's 3 Free Agents Philadelphia Should Avoid In Free Agency.
PF/C Greg Monroe - Detroit Pistons
Seeing that hes jsut 24 years old, Monroe may be an attractive target for the 76ers as they dream of a Monroe/Joel Embiid pairing up front. However, Nerlens Noel still has way too high of a ceiling to give up on just yet and the max-contract premium that the Sixers would have to pay for Monroe doesn't jive with the rebuilding process GM Sam Hinkie has undertaken.
PF/SF Draymond Green - Golden State Warriors
Green is going to get his max contract after his breakout season for the Western Conference champions, but that contract should not come from the 76ers. His all-world defense would be a boon to Brett Brown's game-planning, but he doesn't project to be a primary scoring option like the Sixers would call on him to be for the money they'd have to dish out. He's a system star more suited to Golden State's cache of weaponry that the Sixers' budding young core.
PG Reggie Jackson - Detroit Pistons
The 76ers are looking for a young franchise point guard, but they should put on the brakes when it comes to the 25-year-old Jackson. Jackson is shooting just 29% from beyond the arc over the course of his career so far. He's not likely to become a knockdown perimeter shooter overnight and the Sixers would likely have to overpay him in order to land what amounts to a poor man's Michael Carter-Williams.
