In today's 76ers rumors involving tomorrow's NBA Draft, one source close to Australian guard Dante Exum believes that the Philadelphia 76ers will target him as the third overall pick.
Per Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report, "Exum's Australian Institute of Sport coach, Paul Goriss, believes the Philadelphia 76ers will use the third overall pick on the point guard."
Exum is quite familiar with 76ers head coach Brett Brown, who coached the Austrailian national basketball team and two teams in Australia's top professional basketball league, the NBL.
With the 76ers running a fast-paced, transition-oriented offense, Exum could thrive while taking his time to learn the complex sets and half-court offenses/defenses which the NBA presents.
Zwerling says there is one caveat, though, if the Sixers do pick Exum: "Word around the NBA is that if Exum is selected by the Sixers, current point guard Michael Carter-Williams, who has a similar body (at 6'6") and skills to the Aussie, could be on his way out."
There have been rumors swirling around a potential trade for Carter-Williams, so if those end up being more truth than speculation, Exum may end up as the team's top choice come Thursday.
