Yoga, like most forms of physical activity, attracts a variety of people for a variety of reasons. Junior middle blocker Haleigh Washington needed a gym credit.
Like most Penn State athletes who stay on campus during the summer, Washington decided to take a class to lighten her load and a gym credit was at the top of her list because she, apparently, “needed one.”
She said Jim Weaver, associate director of academic advising for the men’s volleyball team, was the one who suggested she take the 1.5-credit, 8 a.m. yoga class at the White Building.
“He told me it was a really hard class, actually, and I was really looking forward to it because I was coming off of an injury so I needed to get stronger,” Washington said.
