Wrestling Preview: No 1 Penn State vs No. 2 Iowa

Penn State wrestling is a juggernaut, a veritable dynasty right now, and for many, their appearance at the top of the podium this year seems to be a foregone conclusion. The Iowa Hawkeyes hope to be the ones who prevent another Nittany Lions repeat title, luring four key transfers into their 2025 starting lineup (along with one starter who transferred before last season). This year, of course, the Nittany Lions technically boast two transfers in their starting lineup, though neither wrestled any attached matches at their prior schools before donning the blue and white.

This is PSU’s third ranked matchup in a row and first this calendar year at home, after dismantling both #6 Nebraska and #12 Rutgers in each of their home arenas (31-7 and 35-3, respectively).
