The Bears released wide receiver Eddie Royal and waived defensive lineman Will Sutton, fullback Paul Lasike and offensive lineman Cornelius Edison on Thursday.
Royal, who turns 31 later this month, had no more guaranteed money in his contract, which paid him $10 million guaranteed when he signed it in March 2015. The Bears also don’t have any dead cap on his contract.
In two seasons, Royal played in only 18 games because of injuries. He had 33 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns last season and returned a punt for a touchdown.
Sutton was a third-round pick by Phil Emery in 2014.
