Former Princeton coach Jeff Kampersal — who ranks No. 7 all-time in women’s hockey with 327 career wins — was named the new Penn State women’s hockey coach on Thursday.
He spent the last 21 years with the Tigers and twice led the USA Women’s Hockey Under-18 Team to silver medals (2013, 2014). He also shared Hobey Baker Memorial Rink with current Penn State men’s hockey coach Guy Gadowsky, who coached at Princeton from 2004-11.
“After participating in the interview process and spending some time on campus, it is hard not to notice the genuine passion everyone has for Penn State,” Kampersal said in a news release.
