The women’s basketball team finally snapped its seven-game losing streak with a 62-59 upset over previously unbeaten and No. 9 Ohio State.

Penn State held the Buckeyes to just 40% shooting from the floor in the contest and amassed a 39-21 rebounding advantage. Tied at 51 entering the final quarter, the Lady Lions’ defense played arguably its best quarter of the season, holding Ohio State to just 8 points in the final frame. After free throws by Jayla Oden and Gabby Elliott gave Penn State a 62-59 lead in the final minute, the Buckeyes missed two potential game-tying threes to seal the Lions’ upset.
