Penn State had a weekend of highs and lows, sweeping Charleston on Friday night before dropping a tough four-set battle on Senior Night.
Saturday’s loss was a tough one for the Nittany Lions. Not only did it snap their 22-match home winning streak, which dated back to March 21, 2023, but it also marked Charleston’s first-ever win over Penn State in program history.
The Nittany Lions dominated the series opener with a clean sweep (25-22, 25-20, 25-21), showing signs of strong offensive rhythm and defensive control. However, they couldn’t carry that momentum into Saturday, as Charleston battled back to secure a historic 3-1 victory (25-15, 20-25, 36-34, 26-24), handing Penn State its first home loss in two years.
