Washington Redskins Draft Troy Apke In 4th Round

After a stellar NFL combine performance where he showed off his ability to run-run, Troy Apke raised his draft stock from someone who might go undrafted to someone who solidified themselves as a mid-round pick. That all came to fruition Saturday afternoon when the Washington Redskins selected Apke with the 109th pick in the 4th round of the draft.

Apke was just a one-year starter in Happy Valley, but played a lot of football in his three years, whether it was special teams or providing depth at safety. His finest season, to no surprise, was his senior season when he totaled 55 tackles and picked off one pass while serving as the last line of defense at strong safety.
