UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - For the 10th time in program history, the Penn State women's lacrosse team (14-6) will compete in the NCAA semifinals when the Nittany Lions take the field to battle third-seeded North Carolina (18-2) on Friday at 5 p.m. (ESPN3) in Chester, Pa.
Making their first appearance in the national semifinals since 1999, the Lions have built a great deal of momentum during a stout run through the NCAA Tournament bracket. After knocking off Winthrop in the opening round, Penn State has ousted second-seeded Florida (14-13) and seventh-seeded Penn (8-4) in back-to-back gains to earn a spot in the final four.
