BELLEFONTE -- Watching the security camera videos from Penn State's Beta Theta Pi house that capture the last night on campus for sophomore pledge Tim Piazza is an exercise in agony.
The agony is that you see the shirtless 19-year-old, in an obvious drunken stupor, thrashing about or rolling on his fraternity's floor either from pain, cold, nausea, or all of the above, showing what would be the last signs of life.
Because we know how this particular movie ends.
Piazza was pronounced dead less than 24 hours after these images were captured, after emergency surgery at Hershey Medical Center failed to stem what doctors have declared an irreversible brain injury.
